Woolooware pergola + outdoor kitchen.

A 7×4m spotted gum pergola with integrated lighting, fan, and a hardwired outdoor kitchen. Built to handle the Woolooware sea breeze without twisting in three summers.
The client had seen a pergola online that looked great and fell apart in a year. Our job was to build something that looked the same but would still be standing in 2040.
Structure: spotted gum posts on galvanised stirrups, laminated hardwood beams, stainless bolts throughout. Roof pitched 5° for runoff, battened for a future polycarbonate overlay if the westerly rain ever gets annoying.

Aaron ran the carpentry, Dan handled the electrical — fan, six downlights on a dimmable circuit, two weatherproof double GPOs for the kitchen, and a dedicated 20A circuit for the barbecue. Everything on RCBO protection, all cable in conduit, all terminations in weatherproof boxes rated to IP56.
Outdoor kitchen was a Beefeater BBQ set into custom spotted gum joinery, with a Zip HydroTap plumbed in for the client's tea-every-twenty-minutes habit. Rob ran the water and waste back to the existing laundry stack.
Nine working days start to finish. Client's still using the space every weekend — still no twist in the beams, still no rust on the fasteners.

“We wanted it done right, not fast. They did it right AND fast.”
